Loco sobre Locro

LOCRO!
Yeah... we finally had a branch activity and it was to eat Locro! woohooo... Up until now.... I didnt really have anything to share about the weirdest food I've eaten... But now.. Well Locro.. Its soup`. But with peas, beans, squash, salami, pigs stomach, pigs intenstines, parts of the cow that I just dont even want to think about it.... and carrots. And while eating this oh so delicious soup.. everyone was staring us down asking if we liked it and then continued on about how they like pigs hearts the best. Yeah they werent joking. I really hope I dont eat the heart of anybody anytime soon!!!
This week a guy came up to us in the street and asked us to enter his class and talk in English. I was just like, Im not going to follow you anywhere.. but we did. hahaha And hes legit. Hes been talking to missionaries since 1994! And the best part is, he has the Book of Mormon in English and Spanish and HIS WHOLE CLASS has been translating the book and reading it! WOW..... Just gotta love miracles! Yeah, we're going to baptize him. hahaha
I love that we can talk to anyone, and that really God is preparing the hearts of everyone in our path. We just need to have the faith and the courage to talk to them. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Im a turtle Missionary!!

I've just got to say that I love this little black missionary tag.
It lets us talk to everyone, lets us help everyone, and we could sing in the little hospital here in my area. Its not really a hospital, more like a doctors office with emergency care, and singing to strangers was NOT in our plans. But... the spirit guides. hahaha

We went to visit one of Converts who is in the hospital. But he wasnt there, and the nurse said he was in a other hallway. So we went, and he wasnt there either. And the nurse said oh... I thought you were looking for a Senora, not Senor. And well... Im not explaining the situation very well.. but it was weird. So we went to leave and we felt so strange because I KNEW we needed to come to the hospital. I knew it. And so when we went to leave, I couldnt leave. I literally couldnt. It was WEIRD!!! So I told my companion that theres somebody here we need to talk to. I didnt know who... but hahaha I couldnt leave so why not.

And anyways. We went back to where the nurse had orginally directed us, and there was an old lady in the hospital bed in alot of pain, yelling and crying and all of her family was crying. And we walked right up and asked if we could sing a song. And they said yes, which I dont know maybe Im use to people in USA who are like, ¨Who are you to enter the hospital room when we need privacy and blah blah blah¨ But this family was just crying and said yeah. So we sang and well it was obviously angels were helping becuase my comp and I... its a bit interesting singing together. hahaha My comp and I were trying not to cry as we sang Jesus es mi luz. The spirit entered that room and the abuelita wasnt yelling or crying anymore. There was peace.
And really Im just so happy we can see small miracles and try to help people. Alot of time we're just wandering around hoping to make a difference, but I know that if we look to God, He will show us what we need to do and who needs us in this moment. I'm thankful to be a missionary. Sorry family, but I don't really want to leave. :D hahaha

Oh. I also taught English for the first time here.Yeah, its alot of trust, because everyone here knows my English is BAD! i might need to take an English class too. hahahaha
LOVE YOU ALLL

p.s Happy Friday the 13th ;)
p.s.s. the turtle.. yeah its my convert. ;) The sister who owns it has 12 right now... Yeah you all thought I had problems...
Friday the 13th. We did that to the other girls room.
So when they walk in theyll see someone peeking.
They put a person in our bed. We came back to the apartment for the night and our door was open, the heater on, clothes everywhere, and a person in my comps bed. hahahaha Not real. but whew.. i was scared! hahaha so we put this in their room.

Love

Im so grateful that I could skype my family yesterday, and that I have such a wonderful example of a mother. Im grateful that much like the 2000 stripling warriors, I don't doubt because of the things my mom taught me. I'm here in the mission because of the example of my parents, and Im so grateful!!
I'm grateful that I have a family who loves me, and that God has shown us how we can live with them forever!! I know that families really are for eternities. It doesn't make sense to only have this life and nothing more, God has a HUGE plan for us. Every single one of us and he's waiting with open arms to show us the way.

Im grateful for all my mom, my grandmas, and all the leaders that have made me who I am today: a little crazy, irreverent, but with the knowledge that God loves me and that Im a child of Him.
I love you all so much!!! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

"My dear young women, with all my heart urge you not to look to contemporary culture for your role models and mentors.Please look to your faithful mothers for pattern to follow. Model yourselves after them, not after celebrities whose standards are notthe Lord’s standards and whose values may not reflect an eternalperspective. Look to your mother. Learn from her strengths, hercourage, and her faithfulness. Listen to her. She may not be whiz at texting; she may not even have Facebook page. But when it comes to matters of the heart and the things of the Lord, she has wealth of knowledge. No other person on earth loves you in the same way or is willing to sacrifice as much to encourage you and help you find happiness—in this life and forever.
Love your mother, my young sisters. Respect her. Listen to her. Trusther. She has your best interests at heart. She cares about your eternal safety and happiness. So be kind to her. Be patient with herimperfections, for she has them. We all do." Elder M Russel Ballard

Beware the evil behind the smiling eyes

A Footlong Hot Dog with a Side of Bible Bashing...
Please no.

The guy and his daughter were vending footlongs and told us that theyre friends with all the missionaries and gave us free footlongs. It was FREEZING that night and we were super happy.. well it was a trap. We gave him a Book of Mormon and a pamphlet in exchange for a hotdog. hahaha Salvation for food. I like it.
Well... He saw Jesus on the pamphlet and started ranting on how in Exodus, the second commandment is to not have images... its a picture of Jesus buddy, we're not worshipping the photo. Maybe you should read whats inside and then you can rant to us. Also... apparently having my black Ctr ring on my thumb is a signal that Im worshipping the Devil.. I learn new things about myself everyday. hahahaha By the time we could escape the ranting guy, our hotdogs were frozen. Not worth it!

We found one of our investigators, Norma yesterday. Right as she was leaving to go to a other church. She looked at us and told us, well... I was looking for the words of God, and you both are here to teach me. Lets sit down then... so we taught her. And really, I just love her to pieces. We found her when I first got here. So almost 4 months we've been teaching her. And she just really wants an answer in the form of Jesus Christ talking to her from a cloud, but yesterday she finally understood... Shes not going to see that cloud. But if she is focusing on whats shes feeling in her heart, thats all the answer she needs to know that God is listening to our prayers and hes answering, only sometimes we're the ones not listening.
I love this work, and I love seeing the light of Christ enter their eyes.
Also I love living in my jacket... hahahaha During the day, its cold, Im using my jacket, in the nighttime, Im sleeping in my jacket, plus 5 other shirts. hahaha Hello winter!!! Bring it on!!!

I love you all lots!!!!

More mustache fun......
